I’ve been hooked on Journey Juju since I ditched high school graduation to hop on a plane to go to France. In 1995 I went on an around-the-country train trip and really connected with the magic of travel. A friend came to the station to send me off. Before I boarded the California Zephyr, she gave me a film canister with a saltshaker lid. When I opened it and shook it out, a rain of colored glitter fanned out. “Shake this on the seat next to you, and good people will sit next to you,” my friend told me. It worked! My trip was one of the pivotal adventures of my life: wonderful people did sit next to me, I wrote stories and journal entries, made new friends and connected with loved ones, and confirmed my need to travel often.
This is Journey Juju, the creative, playful, and magical energy that can enhance a trip around the world or across the country. With a little intention and a sprinkle of fun, your trip can be everything you want it to be.
About Me
I’m Cynthia Morris. I love my job - I coach writers and other creatives to take their big dreams and bring them into reality. I wrote Create Your Writer’s Life: A Guide to Writing with Joy and Ease, as well as several e-books for travel and writing. I lead creativity tours in France (at last, making good use of my French degree!). This year I am taking on a mobile lifestyle and taking my business – coaching clients, leading groups, and writing – on the road.
I’m shedding my belongings and life as I know it in Boulder and heading to Europe. My Creative Odyssey begins on May 6th, 2008 when I head for Europe. I connect with Journey Juju most easily through making art. Drawing, writing, collage, plus other methods I’ve developed on my creativity tours all help me slow down, savor the moment, connect to people and the world in unique and meaningful ways.
I’ll be blogging about it so you can enjoy the journey with me. I’ll also be encouraging others to travel and make art and will be spreading the fun and magic through Travel Shrines and Journey Blessings.
